Pool Mate Non-Foaming Algae Rid is a highly concentrated, chelated copper-based algaecide that is powerful and effective for killing and preventing green algae without causing foam. With a 7.41% copper concentration, this non-foaming algaecide is fast-acting and of high quality, capable of eliminating most types of algae without clouding the water. It leaves behind a residue that stays in solution indefinitely for long-lasting residual effects, making it ideal for spring start-up. It is safe to swim just 10 minutes after treatment. To use, dilute the appropriate amount of product with at least nine parts water and pour directly into the pool along the edges while the filter and pump are in operation. Allow 10 minutes after treatment for even distribution in the pool water before entering. Initial application for a pool free of visible algae or at the start of the season involves applying 2 oz. of product per 5,000 gallons of pool water under sunny conditions for best results. If algae growth is visible, apply the initial dose and then vacuum the pool after 24 hours to remove dead algae. For pools heavily affected by algae growth, brush the algae spots, vacuum, clean, and scrub the pool walls first, then apply the initial dose and vacuum the remaining algae debris. For maintenance, apply 1 oz. of product per 5,000 gallons of pool water every 5 to 7 days. Note that after heavy or prolonged rainfall, high prevailing temperatures, or heavy swimming use, the maintenance dose should be added more frequently. This Metallic Algaecide is suitable for all pool types, including vinyl, fiberglass, concrete, and gunite. It is non-foaming and effectively prevents and kills algae, allowing for swimming just 10 minutes after use. The recommended weekly maintenance dose is 1 oz per 5,000 gallons.
