Pool Metal Remover and Stain Remover - 1 Quart, 4-Pack

This product is an excellent general purpose sequestrant that helps prevent discoloration of pool water caused by iron, calcium, manganese, copper, and other metals and minerals that may be present in the water supply. It also helps protect plumbing and pool walls from rust, stain, and scale. It is recommended to use this product during all pool openings and closings, as well as periodically throughout the season.

When initially filling the pool, add one quart of Metal Free for every 10,000 gallons of pool water if iron or other metallic contaminants are suspected. Add Metal Free while the pool is being filled and before adding chlorine.

To address an existing colored water issue due to minerals in the pool water, close the pool to swimmers and keep the filter pump running. Stop chlorinating the pool and allow the chlorine level to drop to zero. Lower the pH of the pool water to 6.8 using pH Lower, as this will dissolve the metallic impurities. Add one quart of Metal Free per 10,000 gallons of water and allow the pool water to circulate overnight or until it becomes clear. Adjust the pH of the pool water to a range of 7.2-7.8 using pH Rise. You can resume normal chlorination and pool operation when the chlorine residual is between 1.0-3.0 ppm.

To replenish Metal Free lost through backwashing or splash-out, add one quart of Metal Free for every 20,000 gallons of pool water once a month.
