Pool Mate Algaecide, 2-Pack

The Pool Mate Non-Foaming Algae Rid is a highly concentrated and powerful algaecide that is chelated copper-based. It is known to be the most effective non-foaming algaecide for eliminating and preventing green algae. This product is a fast-acting and high-quality 7.41% copper algaecide that does not cause water cloudiness. It remains in solution indefinitely, providing long-lasting residual effects. Perfect for spring start-ups, it allows swimming just 10 minutes after treatment.

It is important not to mix this algaecide with soap or other cleaners, and it should not be pre-mixed with other water treating chemicals. These chemicals must be handled separately.

To use, dilute the appropriate amount of product with at least nine parts water and pour it directly into the pool along the edges while the filter and pump are running. Bathers must wait for 10 minutes after treatment before entering the pool to allow for even distribution in the water.

For the initial application, if the pool is free of visible algae or it is the start of the season, apply 2 oz. of the product per 5,000 gallons of pool water (or equivalent) under sunny conditions for the best results. If there is visible algae growth, apply the initial dose, then vacuum the pool after 24 hours to remove dead algae. If the pool has heavy algae growth, brush algae spots, vacuum, clean, and scrub the pool walls first. Then apply the initial dose and vacuum any remaining algae debris.

For maintenance, apply 1 oz. of the product per 5,000 gallons of pool water (or equivalent) every 5 to 7 days. However, after heavy or prolonged rainfall, high temperatures, or heavy swimming use, it is recommended to add the maintenance dose more frequently.

This algaecide is suitable for all pool types, including vinyl, fiberglass, concrete, and gunite. It is non-foaming and effectively prevents and kills algae. Remember to wait at least 10 minutes after use before swimming. The recommended weekly maintenance dose is 1 oz. per 5,000 gallons of pool water.
