To test the pH level of your pool, use a reliable test kit. If the pH is below 7.2, you can use sodium carbonate to raise it. Follow the instructions provided in the chart included with the product. Dissolve the sodium carbonate in a plastic pail before adding it to the pool. Slowly pour the dissolved mixture around the perimeter of the swimming pool while the circulation system is running. Allow the system to operate for 1 hour after application.

Afterward, retest the pH level of the pool. If it is still low, repeat the process until the pH reaches a range of 7.4 to 7.6. Sodium carbonate is effective in rapidly raising the pH level of the pool. Additionally, it helps prevent erosion or etching of pool surfaces. By using sodium carbonate, you can easily adjust and maintain the pH level of your pool within the optimal range of 7.2 to 7.6.
